A letter from March 14th, 2018

Hello Carlos from 2025! By the time you open this email, you will be 22 years old. The purpose of this email is solely to take about cryptocurrencies and blockchain technology. Is email still a thing by then and you are just dragging this old system of gmail along with you just for these letters? By this time, I would expect blockchain and cryptocurrencies to finally have hit mass adoption. I’m pretty sure that most of the internet services right now such as Google, Facebook, YouTube are all decentralized or have fallen as companies to other blockchain-based services. In the late 90s and early 2000s, Yahoo dominated as the leading search engine of the internet. Nobody expected Google to crush the titan that was once Yahoo. I have a similar feeling about Ethereum. Yes, Ethereum is great for the time being, but might end up being crushed by something else... maybe NEO. I wonder if Steemit ever took off as a leading social media service... or if it ended up like the MySpace of blockchain based social media. The current cryptocurrency market cap is $338 billion dollars as shown in the image below. The current prices of the top 10 cryptos including Monero and VeChain are as follow... BTC = $8,392 ETH = $626 XRP = $0.72 BCH = $968 LTC = $163 ADA = $0.20 XLM = $0.26 NEO = $72 EOS = $5 NEM = $0.41 XMR = $218 VEN = $3.94 I’m pretty sure that the top 10 cryptos list will be vastly different by 2025. What I’m probably interested the most is if Bitcoin ended up dying off and being forever remembered as the first cryptocurrency... or if it ended up maintaining its lead in the markets and the world of Blockchain technology. One last thing... remember that advanced AI can only be efficiently achieved through Blockchain technology. I know that by now you are in finishing up college or have already started your own company and are rich. Invest in AI projects if you want to make a quick buck and probably contribute to the eventual possible downfall of humanity as Super-intelligent AI take over.
