A letter from February 28th, 2018

Feb 28, 2018 Apr 05, 2025

Peaceful right?

Dear FutureMe, This is weird but I saw Phil read his letter out in a video of his and it seemed like a great thing to do. I'm currently sitting in a class full of year 8s, remember community service? Ugh. I'm also very hungry so I hope you fed yourself today. If you just ate, just drink a glass of water. It will help 😌 So, first things first: hAPPY BIRTHDAY! What are you right now? 24 I'm guessing, wow you must feel old as heck. As I write this currently, you are a 16 year old, spotty, stressed and hairy A Level student who has a lot of fat and is thinking of going vegan from the 5th of March (Enlighten me on how that worked out for you) and you also have a pretty amazing job at the library (money movessssssss) and great friends. My aspirations for you are currently different from what I wanted a year ago so maybe, now that I'm 24, I'm a completely different person. A year ago I wanted to go to university and study English Literature and then go onto to becoming a teacher. Right now? I'm looking at doing vocational training in media and doing freelance writing. So who knows? It's a crazy world. Please don't be hard on yourself because whatever you've done, you have tried your best and I have faith in that and faith in you. The world is a terrifying place and you're just a buttercup trying to find your way. Don't let them trample all over you. **** the haters. Who are they? You probably don't even remember their names anymore and good on you. All jokes aside, every horrible moment and every cutting comment made, whether you remember or not, has cultivated you into the person you are today. You're a woman of dirt and gritty glitter. A woman of grace and rage. And I have had faith in you, ever since I started planning your life. Ever since that first day in year 7, I've painted you as a Bollywood actress, a poet, a novelist, a teacher, a producer, a content creator and all of these have played a part in who you are today. I'm going to end this letter now and wish you the very best. Maybe you could write another letter to the future? Goodbye, my butterfly, Love, megs x
