Time Travelled — almost 8 years

A letter from April 20th, 2017

Peaceful right?

Dear FutureMe, Wow, this is really like a time capsule or something, huh? By the time you get this letter, we'll be 25 years old. Graduated and all those things. Wow... Amazing how technology works, huh? I wish you could send me emails, but that's not how time works, I guess. Unless you're the Doctor, then nothing is really off the table. Though, I really wish you could send me something. SO...I have a lot of questions. First off, Happy birthday! 25 years old. Assuming you're reading this, we've made it that far. Cool! But if someone else is reading this, I'm sorry if this is bringing up bad memories, and I hope you'll doing okay... That got dark...okay then...um...moving on! Are we still with Mason? Mason Boyd? We're pretty serious right now, but I'm honestly wondering how this is going to turn out. Where did we go to college? Right now I'm looking at Murray State, Liberty University, and Belmont University. Did we go to any of them? Or to another one? I hope we had fun in college! What did we study? Are we an English teacher now? Or are we waiting to get our Masters? Did we ever finish that book? You know, the one sci-fi one with Lightfoot and Sai and all that other cool stuff? I really like the story and the universe that we created. Do we still do stuff like that? I hope so because it's really fun. I'm still here though. In high school. I'm actually sitting in French 11 right now, writing this. We're talking about subjunctive stuff and Prom. Prom is this Saturday by the way, I'm going with Mason. It's probably gonna be awesome. So I'm gonna send this now...It's weird to think that I'll be sending this off somewhere, 8 years in my future. It's like I'm going to time travel, but not all of me. Only one part of me is going the quick way. I, however, am taking the slow path. Like in this scene from Doctor Who (The Girl In the Fireplace): REINETTE: So, here you are, my lonely angel, stuck on the slow path with me. DOCTOR: Yep, the slow path. Here's to the slow path. (They drink a toast.) REINETTE: It's a pity. I think I would've enjoyed the slow path. Yep...the slow path. I hope we still watch Doctor Who, and that we still enjoy Uncle Rick's books. Current me would be really sad to find out that future me doesn't enjoy the little things. Now, go eat some cake, read a good book or watch a good movie, and enjoy life! I hope things work out. Romans 8:28 - And we know that in all things God works for the good of those who love him, who have been called according to his purpose. (NIV)
