A letter from August 20th, 2015

Peaceful right?

Dear FutureMe, I hope wherever you are reading this from, you're happy. Happy with your life, fulfilled, and secure with yourself in all ways, even the ways you could have not thought of when writing this. I hope you are the man you want to be, if not needed. I hope you've stayed honest and undaunted. As we, you and I, know our highs are never as high as our lows can take us low. I wish I could say that I'm sure you and I would have made it somewhere of respect and prestige by the time you're reading this; hopefully we are. Who would have guessed writing a letter to oneself would be so emotional, that the simple act of putting thoughts into words on an email would cause so much melancholy to fill the air. However, I guess that is us, isn't it? Drawing from the deepest well within us, as that is the voice in our writing. Remember the Orbit Sweet Mint Gum? Remember the computer desk in our room piled with empty water bottle? Our family's three dogs? The eye strain from the long hours on the computer? Remember when we couldn't drive? I'm sure you do. I don't want to drag this on too much longer, I'm sure you have a lot to do. Chores for the lovely wife hopefully. Now before I end this letter, just know you and I are one, and the journey we take is not going to be understood by everyone, for it is not their journey to take. Never forget the deep reality of the world. Lastly, if there is only one thing I can tell you now, it is that, it is never too late, it could only end too soon. With much love and sincerity, PastMe. P.S. Just because it isn't everything you expected it to be, doesn't mean it isn't everything you always wanted. :)
