Letter To My Future Self
Hi myself! How have you been for this past 10 years? If you’re wondering who this is, it’s your past self. I’m so curious on how are you right now. Do you go to the university you wanted? Do you find someone who you can spend your life with? Are you happy? How’s your health?
Remember the time when you struggle to keep the balance on your homework, chores, and resting? Still remember that Humanities is one of the most frustrating subjects throughout your middle school year? One of our least favorite subject is Humanities, ya know! At first, we, me, you, whatever, same thing, anyway, we both are totally in love with Humanities, but then it started to become a bit frustrating and we keep on making essays and I’m not a big fan of essays. The nice thing is, I can pay attention really well in this lesson(because Mr.Young will actually decrease our points, as in groups, and you wouldn’t want to make other members blame you because it will suck). It also gives me knowledge and helps me improve on making essay.
School is not my first priority in life now. Yeah, yeah I know it’s important and it basically decide your future. But it’s really boring for me and I think it’s un-useful. I know that you probably regret not paying attention to all subjects. I keep on neglecting my works and I don’t really give everything based on the due date but then I know I’m going to pay attention and study real hard to go to the university I dream of in the tenth grade until I achieve my dream. I hope you remember clearly that you procrastinate a lot it almost affect your grades and it almost make you fail in most class, math especially.
I really hope you still remember what have you learned on Humanities in grade eight. I’ll refresh your mind if you do! What we learn is quite important for you daily lives! In case you forgot, in the first semester, year 2013-2014, you learned 3 Units. The 3 units consist of Digital Worlds, World Government, and Culture.
The first unit is about gamification. Gamification is a concept of game mechanics and game design techniques to help engage and motivate people on achieving their own goals. Gamification is the use of game mechanics, to solve real world problems, and in non-game contexts. Game mechanics is to reward activity. For instance, Points, Badges, Leaderboards, Levels, and Challenges. We were also asked to play Dumb Ways To Die, Paper Piece and many more. It was a fun time and it is also really useful. Besides this, We were also asked to make an essay about using too much social media and about balancing on playing, chatting, and studying. In this unit, we learn that games can be pretty useful and it’s not just to entertain us. Some games are made purposely to entertain us and help us make our brain works! Nice, huh?
The second unit is about Fairness and Development. Mr. Young, your humanities teacher explain to us about how unfair the world is. From the economy, and other stuff. We were also asked to make a Powerpoint Presentation about Ebola. (It was spreading in that year and people was so scared and freaked out about Ebola). The most difficult thing and the most frustrating thing I do in Unit 2 is when we were asked to make a VTS about Nigeria and globally. I think it’s my weakness to make something like VTS. Do you still struggle to make something like this? I hope you don’t struggle again though.
Remember the third unit? No? Figured that. Your short memory is simply annoying. Anyways, we learned about Salsa dancing and basic skills of fighting. (Defending, Attack, etc) Remember our horrible video? Yeah I know. It was horrible alright. The video is about how we can tell stories through movement. We also learn about Bruce Lee! Bruce Lee, our role model, teaches people to try multiple stuff rather than focusing on one task because by then, you’ll be close minded. Trying multiple stuff is fun and gives you more knowledge and it will make you open minded. Try not to just focus on one particular thing, okay?
I hope you find a nice, smart, and attractive husband there! Off topic, I know but I hope you’re not as fat as now and keep being healthy! Try to enjoy life and be cheery. Oh, and don’t forget to talk to your best or ex best friends!(Must contact *****) x
Sincerely, your self past!
