Hey man. You're in France, it's apparently a time when you've sent a lot of messages to the future. That points for it being full of good moments that you want to remember. And it really is, the best time of you're life.
I'm 26, a few days from turning 27 and receiving a letter from 2 years ago, I wonder what's written in there. And I bet I'll write a new one as soon as that letter arrives.
I find curious how happiness is so much about love, isn't it? I mean, how many letters I've read in here that mention the loved ones? And now the first thing I think of writing is my girlfriend. She may be far from you now, or may be by your side reading this with you, in spite of she being too lazy to read in English (if there's another person reading this with you now, I hope that she understands that you've loved others before).
Carol is really great. Far from perfect, but who isn't? She has qualities that outweigh by far her flaws. She likes to talk but also listens you when that's needed. She's comprehensible, never jealous. And a hell of a partner in bed. A lot of other things as well, but I won't take long in this part, if you're with someone else, she might get jealous (you're much better than this Carol, darling!).
Have you traveled around the country yet, to visit the friends that you've made in France? How are Nat, Nai, Leo, Bia, Samu, Lob's, Rafa, Ale, MG? Don't tell me you've never again spoke with them! You better at least send them an email right now! And for the other important people that you've met in your second year as well.
You know what might be a good idea? Go back to playing war online, that would be fun.
Have you ever gone to Liechtenstein? Or Innsbruck? How much of the world do you know, man?
I hope you're doing what you like to do. I've tried some but I'm not yet sure if I know what is it that you like to do. Gimme a call if you find it out.
(I've just set up the date. It's a random day, but you must be 39 now. You better have accomplished a lot (by 'a lot', I mean 'happiness'). And make fun of my English, 'cause yours is far better.)
I think you were a good person 12 years ago. Smart, handsome, a guy with strong beliefs yet open-minded. If I'm wrong, well, I hope you do better than me.
I wonder if you have kids. That's a big step in life. I'm pretty sure you're a good father. Make sure they speak a lot of languages! And that they eat correctly! Or... well, I don't have to tell you any of that, you probably know how to raise children more than I do. But don't forget to have fun with them and tell them that you love them.
I really don't have anything else to say, you're by far more experienced than me, it would be silly to keep giving you advices. I picture you reading this and thinking "ah... silly pastMe hahaha". Yes, you're laughing at me.
Really, all that I can say to you is to remember the good moments. Remember France, remember friends, your kitchen, the parties, the classmates, the fun, the passion. Mostly, remember people, and don't let them get away of your life.
Love,
26yo You.
Epilogue
27 days laterDear 26yo me,
Thank you for the kind reminder to get in touch with my friends. We don't talk regularly, but, with a few exceptions, I can still say that...
