A letter from the past

Peaceful right?

Dear FutureMe, I hope when you read this, the stress and panic and uncertainty has faded from the time I'm in. I hope that all this horribleness is just a faded memory and you can laugh at the struggles you went through and I am going through. I hope you figured out a place to live and didn't end up homeless, and I hope that you have a good job, one that lets you sleep better and stop using your credit card so much. I hope that you and Jim have found some peace in your life together. If you haven't and you guys are having problems, remember how things used to be: How he rubbed your back until the hiccups went away because you were in too much pain; how you used to love making him food because it would make his day better; how you used to tell each other that you loved each other all the time. Remember the times when you had no idea how to finish all the homework you had before midnight, and how bad that made you feel. I hope you aren't taking for granted the fact that you don't have any more homework, and have realized how silly it all seems. I don't know where you are, but I hope you're having fun. I hope you had a good birthday, and it wasn't a miserable day for you. And just in case you need an ego boost: You are beautiful, but don't care if anyone tells you. You are talented, even if it doesn't show all the time. You are smart, don't let anyone make you feel stupid EVER AGAIN. Don't ever let anyone treat you like you're an accessory, and don't ever let people use you. You are too good for those people, maybe even too awesome. You are young, you are free, you are in love and you have all the opportunity in the world. Take a breath, and a vacation if you can. Love, Your past self.
