Dear Future Sarah,
Happy Birthday gorgeous! You are probably in Oaxaca with your Mom, having had a party yesterday. Hope you had a blast.
Your goal was to be fabulous at 40! You are beginning the second half of your life and you deserve a fresh start from a GREAT starting point.
Be confident. Be proud. Be celebrated. Be alive!
This second part of your life is a profound time of intellectualism, full self expression, superb health and love.
And now that you're 40 - have money in the bank - feel amazing, plan on traveling the world - have an adventure.
Sarah, I want you to have spend this time figuring out who you really are and what you really want. I want you to focus on nourishing yourself. You are to be grown up and responsible. Design a life you want to live - a fulfilled life - a life you love. Be selfish. Do what's best for you. Stop taking care of others. Take care of yourself. Don't let the need to take care of others derail your own progress.
If you want to be needed, remember, you need yourself.
You have nine months to make a lot of important things happen and you are on the right track:
I want you to be:
160 pounds because you are an athlete and you love to work out and you are the
healthiest you have ever been.
In love with a great guy who loves you back and gives you what you need. This is what I want in a great guy:
1. Sober
2. Employed
3. Educated
4. Loves to travel
5. Handsome and sexy
6. Comprable sex drive
7. Patient
8. Kind
9. Generous
10. With integrity
11. Slow to anger
12. Quick to forgive
13. Monogamous
14. Funny
And Crazy About me!
You should be gainfully employed - preferably rich! You should be teaching, making films and writing. You are a supreme story teller - let the world hear your voice!
I want you to have gotten a more profound grip on your codependence. That means a solid, continuing good bye to:
Michael E.
Simon C.
Juan V.
You deserve better.
Sell forever script and Change of Address.
Write a short story every week. Get some published.
I want you to be an avid blogger and on your way to publishing a few books.
Stay in the Landmark conversation.
Improve your time on half-marathons or at least keep walking them.
Continue Yoga and Belly Dancing. Take your vitamins.
I want you to have new friends - people you love talking to and hanging out
with.
I want you to have gone to New York to reconnect with old friends and family.
(Mahasin, Carl, Tex, Naima, Mariama, Noah, Amy, Debra...)
I love you Sarah and you are worthy of your dreams realized. I want the best
for you. Never stop believing.
And again, Happy Birthday! You have so many good times ahead - better than you can even imagine.
I love you - always have - always will.
