Dear FutureMe,
You are graduating from college soon. I hope so at least. Its o.k. if you've got a good reason not to but remember the dreams we had? Remember wanting to be an astronaut, or the president, or just a great teacher at some high school. But I'm sure you did alright otherwise you probably won't get this email.
I hope you found a girl and fell in love with her and that you are both very happy. Because just being with her is all that is really important. I want you to send yourself another letter every year on your anniversary with her reminding yourself how much you love her even if sometimes she drives you mad. You know you love her even more for it.
I hope you can think about mom without being greatly depressed, but I hope a tear still comes to your eye. I hope you still love her as much as I still do now. Its been 2 years now but 5 by the time you read this. Its such a long time but love last forever. You better not forget that, no matter what. I'm not young and naive so you better not be old and jaded.
I hope that you and Eric still get along and maybe have finally found some Bob Hope style Nazis to fight. Because that is an experience we need to fulfill our souls need to defend our friends and family. I hope you've seen Chris recently and that he is doing alright in the Navy. He might be out of it next year if he doesn't reenlist, so I hope you two stayed in touch.
Finally I hope you still play music, I hope you are lots better than me. I hope you became section leader and I hope that you helped out a lot at the high school. And I hope that you rocked a horn solo in front of 60,000 people at least once. Most of all I hope you are happy. So no matter what pick your head up and smile because you are graduating from college and you Daniel Jackson, are going somewhere.
