Dear FutureMe,
I am absolutely struggling to comprehend any part of what Riley told me about Jess. First of all, this is one of now two times that Riley has EVER called me, the only other one being when I told her that Anna Claire and Anrai had ended whatever the heck they had. The fact that she called me on Sunday alone messed with my head, but it was definitely made a lot worse by what she told me on said call. I haven't really had time to fully process it yet, so I'm doing what I have done like a dozen times before - I'm writing it in a letter. The only difference is that this might be the first one that, instead of being in a letter to Riley that I didn't know if I was going to send or not at the time, this one is in a letter to myself that I will send within the next 15 minutes.
On Saturday, Jess called Riley to ask if she wanted to go to Chili's because Jess's friends had ditched her. Riley of course said yes (because Riley is an awesome person who cares about other people so much and knows what it's like to be left behind), and they went to Chili's. They talked normally about like school and crap for a while, and then, out of absolutely nowhere, Jess sighed and went, "I miss Gavin so much." Riley, reasonably distraught, goes, "Excuse me?", and Jess continues on with, "I don't know, just, like during Godspell, we really had something special. I know I have a boyfriend, and I love Larry so so much, but with Gavin, it was different." An incredibly insane bomb to drop while sitting in a Chili's eating mediocre-at-best food. While Riley was sat there just absolutely shocked, Jess KEPT TALKING (bad decision) for some reason. This girl, who has seen Riley at her absolute worst, fully said, "You get it, don't you? You love Ellie, but you still miss Geoffrey sometimes, right?" This was definitely the wrong thing to say, as it led to Riley later ending up in one of her I-should-get-back-with-a-man-who-looks-like-a-billboard spirals (very aptly named I know). At this point, they've both paid at the Chili's (at least I hope they did) and they are now driving to Michael's. Why? To buy a poster for Jess to make a Sadie sign for her boyfriend. (...) They're walking around the store, looking for the posters, when Jess decides she HASN'T learned from the past and keEPS TALKING (GIRL). This time, she goes with the very well thought out, "Last January, the week before Godspell show week, I went over to Gavin's house to 'meet his dog' (Quotation marks added by yours dearly). One thing led to another, and I ended up spending the night." Riley looks and Jess and goes "Girl, please tell me this isn't going where I think it is." Jess SHRUGS AND GOES "Yeah, I ****** him, but it's fine because it was only once, and I still love Larry. I know it's cheating, but it honestly isn't that big of a deal." My homegirl said this while buying a poster to make a Sadie sign to ask her boyfriend that she just casually admitted to cheating on with a guy a year older than her.

anYWAYS, at this point on the call, I fully thought that Riley was just like pulling my leg or something, but no. she was being 100% serious. which is 100000% insane. okay I would love to finish this now but it is 10:41pm and I took my meds an hour ago so I am about to pass out and I will try my best to finish this tomorrow❗❗❗.
adios *****
