Dear FutureMe,
Firstly, look in the mirror and appreciate yourself. Appreciate how far you've come. For the first time in years, you've put yourself first. You've done exactly what you said you would do and for that I'm proud of you. Yes it may only be six months into the year, but the fact that you stuck to your goals, woke up and chose to love yourself everyday through picking up good habits AND aimed for improvement and not perfection? As the chronic perfectionist you used to be? Ugh I'm so proud of you bubs.
Remember the days when your ex best friends would have conversations about things they knew you couldn't participate in? Remember when you had friends who constantly took you for granted, because you poured in their cup without pouring in yours first? They're GONE. I want you to hear me, your past self, say this loud and clear: YOU have always been enough. STOP picking the wrong friends and start picking the right ones, who truly appreciate you for all you are. Ones that will make your cup overflow, not remain empty.
I have to also say I'm proud of you babes for standing on business lol, because not many people in this generation can say they haven't spun the block. I love that you're leaving everything in God's hands and trying to live in his will, even though everywhere you turn in university, there are so many opportunities to deter from the narrow path.
I know how much you crave love and that's okay, we're all human. I know that when you open this, if you're not in a relationship by then, you will be craving love at this very moment. But remember, God always has better for you! It's better to wait for his will, than to be left feeling dissatisfied because you KNOW you can do better than the man you picked.
Overall, I'm just writing this to let you know; keep going. Keep pushing, keep taking risks even when no one is believing in you, keep believing you'll be a great stylist, keep posting even if you have the smallest fear of being seen. Because the truth is, those who make fun of you for trying or too scared to even take the same risks as you; they're small-minded. But keep believing and you shall receive in Jesus' name.
Just know I LOVE YOU AND WHO YOU ARE. Keep being your genuine, authentic, stylish, confident and bold self.
XOXO, Shanoi from January 2025
