A letter from January 02, 2025

Dear FutureMe,(chika) Happy birthday, long life and prosperity. I know it your graduation and your birthday today. But you shouldn't see it as a day being taken from you or a birthday that isn't really all about you. I want you to see today as a gift, and it is two big gifts being gifted you. Because you are turning 20 and finishing college at the same time I hope our results is good I hope we are graduating with flying colours, I hope we love our graduation dress and I hope Amarachi(sister) is happy with her results and I hope she is the valedictorian of our set because she really wanted that award and she have worked so hard for it, with all the sleepless night and the money she have spent to retake courses I also hope Amarachi is happy and loves her graduation dress I want to say a big congratulations to the future me and a Happy birthday and also a big congratulations to Amarachi. When we came to this island in our 1st year we hated it and the people in it, then after a while in our second year we were a little bit comfortable and we knew we would rather study and graduate here than in Nigeria and that gave us a little bit of peace after a while again in our 3rd year we found a house and we moved out from the dorm, we were a little bit comfortable and had our privacy because we had our own room we found people who we could finally call friends and finally for once since we came to this island life was making a little bit of sense. And after a while, we are in our 4rd year first semester now (this is when i am writing this), and we are looking for job opportunities and a country where we can complete our masters degree and work too and it been very frustrating, hard, and scary, but I just want you to know that there was a time that we were squatting in Bobo house in Aycan you were sleeping in the living room and i was sleeping in the bed room and our luggage could barely fit that whole and we had to keep some of our luggage in the dorm, we were staying there because they were closeing down the dorm for that semester and Mr Marvellous our agent, didn't tell us they do that every end of the semester we thought it was over because that was our first time of having no where to stay and no where to put our luggage but we figured it out together. Not only that, after our second year we moved out the dorm, because all the house we wanted to rent wasn't available at the moment or they were all rented out we stayed squatting again with Ola this time around and it was so uncomfortable because we both felt she didn't want us there after a while, but we got through that together, we found a house in ******, the landlord gave us a house in Doğanci to stay for the summer because the house in ****** wasn't available yet but will be after the summer and we really wanted to move out of Ola house and after the summer we wanted to move in to the house we paid for and we found out the house was not what we wanted and not what we paid for so we asked the landlord to change it and he said the apartment is full and he can't, we also thought we would be living in an apartment we don't like for the rest of our stay in this country but we figure it out together, even after we packed, in there was still some issues in our new house but we figured it out together. So it may look right now that nothing seems to be working or going well or going as planned but with time and as we grow we will figure it out and I am saying this with my hand on my chest, It may not be perfect but it will be something that will still make us smile and I promise ✋️and something is better than nothing. Amarachi I am very proud of you something I wonder if I will ever meet someone who is as smart as you and at your age, your commitment to something you really want is what most people look for and it sad you don't know that, you may not be sure of what you want to do right now but when you find out watch yourself give it your all and watch your commitment to it, watch how that thing work out for you Remember, good things take time to achieve. Just trust yourself as you go. Enjoy today to the fullest and remember there won't be a day like today again, and you won't experience a day like today again Today is one of those one in a million possibility for you, it is one of a kind chika do not forget that A big congratulations to you both🎉🎊💃 Here's to a new beginning!!!!!🥂🍻🍾🥂🍾 I love you 😘
