Dear FutureMe,
I’m sitting outside at sunset and thinking it would be nice to write a letter to me a year from now. Dear jeebus I hope you’re finished your thesis. I say a lot that we get there when we get there but I’d really like to move on.
However, what an exciting year I’ve had and I’m making all my dreams come true. When I started using this website I was living in the lower mainland in one of my big three terrible relationships and I think my first letter might have arrived after I got out, but it definitely gave me perspective. I’m so grateful that I’ve been strong and have built this life for myself and Daniel. I’m also so proud that he’s making a life for himself and I hope that he continues on a good path.
Change is scary and I think that’s been holding me back, but I’ve been stuck long enough and I’m ready for what’s next. I know the days can be long and that you don’t think you have what it takes, but I know by the time you read this, you’ll have done great things.
I hope you’re patient with yourself when you need rest and I hope you continue to see the love in your life, even when it’s lonely. I hope you get all the things you deserve, and that you continue to share with others.
I hope you’re still there to read this, the world needs your light and humour. It’s hard to have such a big heart but it’s what makes your life so special. It’s not as sweet without the sour.
