Dear FutureMe,
you may not remember this time when you sat at a starbucks and listened to the people around you, the music overhead, and the hiss of the steam of the coffee machines. But in this moment, you were happy. You had grabbed hold of an idea, of an understanding, that life is not all these "quality" moments which is just an american rationalization to allow us to ignore the mundane for its lack of productivity. No, the mundane productivity of life is critical to it, for giving life texture and richness. Life is a lot of moments of sitting in traffic, of waiting in lines, of sitting in a noisy-as-all-fucking-hell starbucks amidst the din of humanity-and loving life. Hold onto the notion, however foolish, that life is all around you every moment of every day. Not only that, but it's also beautiful, and especially worth living.
