A letter from May 4th, 2023

You Graduated !!! Congratulations !!❤️❤️ you don’t know how proud I am that I know that you did all that you could to walk across that stage today. You’re a smart girl and I know you’ll accomplish great things with your life !! I wanted to write you a little poem so you have something to look back on as a little congratulations gift from your 15 year old self. When I was 7 I wished to be 11, because thats how old my big cousin was. but momma said not to “grow up too fast”. When I was 11 I wished to be 13, so I could reach the age limit on roblox. but momma said not to “grow up too fast”. When I was 13, I wished to be 15, so I could fit in with the rest of the teenagers. but momma said not to “grow up too fast”. When I was 15 I wished to be 17, so I could finally have freedom. but momma said not to “grow up too fast”. well.. you have the freedom, what’s next ? I spent all that time wanting to grow up and now i’m supposed to act like an “adult”. I wish my biggest worry was a multiplication quiz in math. I wish to come home and have mom ask “how was school”. I wish to be able to do absolutely nothing with nothing to worry about. I wish. As you flip to a new chapter of your life, you will always be able to reminisce about your childhood and wish for it back. even though I wanted to “grow up”. i shed tears writing that for you omg. but anyway, i love you and i wish you more blessings to come your way, Congratulations !!!!
