Dear FutureMe,
Hey me. Today has been a fine day, but dysphoria has been pretty bad. Binding hurts and I can’t do it at night even with a sports bra and mom told us that we probably wouldn’t be better off if we were born a boy (we were talking about clothes, remember?)… but hey! We made it through. Right? I have just a few questions.
1. Did we figure ourselves out? Did we get comfy with who we are, and tell the world, and wear what we really want to, and change our name?
2. This isn’t a mistake, right? I don’t like making mistakes. It doesn’t feel like a mistake.
3. Are our parents ok with us? Does it all work out?
4. Our friends are still there, right? they are all still there, right?
5. Did streaming work out? Are we doing ok? Did we get through college?
And finally
6. Do you love me? Do you even remember me? Please tell me you learned to love your past self because current me needs a little loving.
Good luck. I love you and I know how hard it is sometimes but it’s ok because we are strong, we can do this. Don’t forget to sm:)e
-your past self
