Flying cars and orbital hotels

Dear FutureMe, So, we never thought we'd make it this far even and the future up to now has not been what we expected it to be. I hope that by the time you get this, we will have gotten off this ball of rock and started living in the solar system at large. I hope that you have the opportunity to fly across the planet in a sub-orbital balistic rocket. If you still have to go to work every day, rather than telecommuting, I hope that you are able to travel by air. I hope that you have the opportunity to vacation in orbit or on the Moon. I hope that they've finally figured out how to make fusion reactors to supply all the energy we need. I hope that your son has the future that we were supposed to have by now. May your future be brighter than the one I've had so far. Things have gotten better, but not as fast as I thought they would. I wonder whether the next 25 years, the next 50 years, will have brought all of the promise of our race to fruition. If we can overcome terrorism, you may have a chance. I promise I'll save some money for you. Happy Birthday! Take care of yourself and say "Hi" to the boy for me. I'm sure he's quite a great young man by now. Tell him I love him.
