A letter from Jul 15, 2022

Dear Future Gauriander, Gaurisaurus, Gaureo, Guri, Not gonna lie, you're one of those people that I never expected to bond so quickly and get so close with. I remember the first time I met you, we had RA training and I saw you coming down the hallway of the lobby by the sofas in front of the TV with your crutches cause your stupid foot was fractured. I thought to myself, wow what a crippled baddie. Then we met again a few more times cause you were friends with Pragya so we went out once for drinks, all the RAs and then we went back to your room, danced, played cards, and ate Papa John's. It was so funny when we met you because you had just gotten out of a relationship and we new RA's expected to see you that you were most likely in a relationship with a cute arab/indian brown boy but instead it was a white hilly billy Trump-supporting red neck ugly *** kid. I felt bad but always knew you had so much more potential in you to grow from a long relationship like that and do better. Then you would always come by the office a few times after that and would hang out with us, and you were really cool to be around and talk to. Soon after, we just started talking a little close to December 2021 and you were going to India right before break and so you were quarantining in your room so we decided to call. We had a very long, tea-filled call and I gotta say ever since then, we continued to stay in contact a lot more and eventually became friends. One reason being that we were in very similar situationships in the dorms which I think we can both agree are phases that we recommend no one to face. We were pretty crazy about them tho, and it's kind of embarassing considering we were the building baddies with a line of minions waiting to speak to us, do favors for us, be with us, etc. IN fact, we even made a spreadsheet called Project Collection: https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/1ys-cnD-NZnM-4Xq9v8LccFwX0aymWBuhJeTplc1o4C8/edit?usp=sharing I like to say I had a lot of bonding experiences with you that I never got to experience with many of my other friends at the dorms so I'm super glad we clicked really well. It sounds cringey but I think we saved each other, and by saved I mean, literally helped each other throughout the year to focus on ourselves and to avoid getting stomped on by people who never deserved an ounce of our time nor attention. God, I hope we've moved past that. Anyways, to the real life updates, soooooo, you just finished your senior year in Baruch and locked down a very heavy deal with CIBC as a Full-Time Analyst with a $115K (maybe more??) annual salary!!! You make me so proud and I wish to be at least half the person you are when I graduate too. You're hardworking and have never not been fully committed to all that you do, so you 100% deserve this opportunity! You also just started work this week, and found out that you have an assistant as well as a trip to Canada for two weeks (wow you are already going on business trips, we love a corporate girly). You also got an apartment with Richard Reyes in Astoria, Queens and I am coming tomorrow to have my first sleepover, so I am excited!!! You went on a date with Paolo (cute Italian boy from one of your classes at Baruch you met senior year) yesterday to Pink Berry (froyo spot that me and u have been obsessed with by the dorms), you've been talking to him for a while but you don't quite like him just yet in that way and who knows maybe things have changed. Whatever it is, it was all from the universe leading you to make the right decisions. Okay, but now I have some questions about present-day: -Do you still live in NYC? ( You went from living in the dorms to living in an apartment, so I'm curious what you're doing now) -Do you still work at CIBC? If so, what do you do now? If not, where'd you move to? -Did you ever end up posting on Tik Tok? I know you were saying you always wanted to start making videos but only once you got the iPhone 14. -Idk if it's right for me to bring this up but past me is SUPER nosy and I guess it is all dependent on the circumstances of the future: Do you and Paolo still talk? Do you and Guap still talk? Do you and Kabir still talk? Do you and Amine still talk (and lord. I hope the hell not.)? -Do you still drink your green drinks (kale, carrots, lime, I dont know what else you put in it tbh but you would always claim how it clears your skin and gut out) -Did we ever end up visiting Cancun or Miami? -Are you currently in a relationship, have you settled down yet, found someone that treats you like the queen you ******* are? -Did you get any more piercings or tattoos? (I remember coming with you to get the heart on your waist at Live By Sword in SoHo and that was just so fun and slightly spontaneous) Anyways Gauri, I just wanted to let you know that you are on the right path now and where you need to be as a 22 year old adult graduated with a BBA in Finance. I am very ecstatic to see how you turn out in 2025 where you will be turning 25 years old. And whatever it is, I just know it is so great and you are continuously on your way to a successful future!
