Dear Future Charlotte,
I hope you get this email in your spam one day. maybe you'll be bored, at a doctor's appointment, or babysitting Alex. You'll check your email, for some reason, checking for any new deals on nintendo, and you'll find this.
Are you doing well? how was middle school? if my math was right, you should be going into high school soon-ish. yikes. glad that's not me right now. are you still friends with everyone? does emma text you back now? 😏 or maybe you l i k e someone else...?
this is what im doing right now and you, you lucky gal, should be reading this 3 years in the future.
i'll set the scene for you:
You sit in your bed, browsing youtube and other dumb sites while listening to some random lofi music just a little after an hour before you overflowed the toilet. (shut up, i know what you're thinking. no, i didn't poop so much it overflowed. we just have shoddy pipes so save whatever sass you were about to give me.)
anyway, you find your mind wandering from the task at hand, writing a letter to your future self. you think about how you should go back through this email and capitalize the beginning of the sentences, but decide you're too lazy. You think about your favorite songs, wondering if you still listen to mike krol, balkans, austin weber, all that jazz. you find remember you have layla, (a friend of a friend), you have to go to her party in a few days. (yeah, i couldn't believe it either, ME? invited to a party?) you start shifting uncomfortably. Sabrina has a party soon too. it's like a week after layla's. recently, like a few months ago, zia invited me to her birthday party. of course, theia, and a bunch of popular girls were there. like, what the heck? also, it was at a roller skating place, and, you didn't, and probably still don't, know how to skate. Everyone was laughing and theia was pushing people down, all normal stuff, i left maybe 20 minutes into the party. yep, that's why I avoid parties now.
do you still feel very middle child like? I hope not. :/ just remember that middle children are usually the smartest, most attractive, and can get away with stuff because no one notices you. :3
moving on, how was middle school? did we survive? did you get out of p.e. with your inhaler?? gee, i hope so. did you get any new clothes? I hope you bought a new hoodie, maybe a tie dye one? did you start wearing hair clips like I wanted? oooh, did you figure out how to manage your floofy bangs? ok, ok, I'll stop with the questions.
