Heyy! I can’t remember if I already wrote a letter to you for graduation, because I currently have 12 letters sent to the future already. Excessive, I know. But anyway! It certainly can’t be a bad thing to receive two letters instead of one.
I’m reading all of these other public letters that people sent to themselves, and they are so well spoken! I feel upset with myself for not being able to do the same, but then I also have to remind myself that these people are aspiring writers in their mid-twenties.
I can’t believe that you’re already graduating! If it feels crazy to me now, I can’t even imagine how crazy it is for you. There are so many memories you have that I haven’t lived yet, which is pretty cool to think about. I just finished up my freshman year, and to be honest, I can’t remember a single thing from it. I know very well that I spent every single day worrying about the same things, which made life seem repetitive and boring. But it doesn’t have to be! I’m working so hard not to worry about my social skills, and I really hope it had an effect on where you are now. No matter what happens, there is nothing to worry about. If you feel like somehow you are behind everyone else, that’s perfectly okay. You don’t even realize how much time you have left, and how much more of your youth you have left to enjoy. Being young is such a gift, and to avoid being a hypocrite, I am so grateful to be this age and I love all the things I can do right now!
You are such an incredible person, and no matter how many times other people will tell you that, it’s only true if you can believe it yourself. Whatever challenges college has to bring, you can overcome them, because you are genuinely so much stronger than you give yourself credit for. Now go be happy!! The rest of life’s adventures await you ❤️
Much love,
Your 15-year-old self
