A letter from May 25th, 2022

Dear FutureMe, HAPPY BIRTHDAY!! YOU ARE FINALLY 18!! That means that you are now a fully fledged adult! My name is Laci Barnes (You already know that though), and I am currently in 8th grade. We only have 1 and a half days of school left until summer. These past few weeks have been really rough, but I will get through it. I had a major fight with Jacee so we are no longer best friends. So basically she told Katie that I called her annoying (and I did), but she didn't tell Katie about everything that she said to me about Katie. I've been sitting by myself at lunch because I don't have any friends in B lunch. Ever since I dropped Jacee, I have been WAY more active and healthier. I made the freshman cheer team at CHS. We have practices every tuesday and thursday and I have tumbling every wednesday. Am I still doing cheer? I also am doing marching band when school starts back up. Am I still in band? If so did I finally make honors? Right now my closest friends are Bradley Enriquez, Malie Uptergrove, Samuel Potestas, and kinda Jacob Whitener, but I don't know if we will continue to be friends since he is going to a private school. I have also been talking to Diego Reyes a lot (remember the diego fan club?). I have been trying to become more independent and confident recently. I am going to the lake with the Sharp Family and Malie on the last day of school (May 27th) since it is a half day. Currently my favorite subject is english because I LOVE writing. I am very passionate about arguing and I can argue about ANYTHING. I also want to take journalism. I have decided that i am going to focus on having fun in high school instead of stressing about my GPA. I love cheer, but it is really straining. I am planning on going to Navarro College in Corsicana, Texas. One lesson that I have learned from this year is to not talk about people behind their backs and to be more kind and outgoing. I realized that the more embarrassed I get, the less reasons I have to get embarrassed. I learned from a podcast that nothing is permanent, so to just live life to the fullest. I am very excited for marching season. I may not have made honors band, but I will do everything in my power to make it my sophomore year. Do we have a boyfriend?? If so whats his name?
