Dear Future Maria,
HI! By the time you're reading this, you are a 27-year old woman. Happy and funny at the same time. 3 years ago you were composing this letter on a laptop owned by CTO Binan. You were wearing matchy orange sleeveless and shorts; sitting on the bed of your brother Oliver; feeling the heat of the past-2-pm sun as its rays pierced through the window of his room; and patiently (i hoped so) waiting for your quarantine period to be over. You were in the house of your Aunt Mimi Mia in Garden Villas 3. You prayed for her to have a baby very soon. You knew she would be the happiest if that happened so. You still remember that day as you wrote this letter? hahaha.
How are you now? So much has changed, indeed. You are a lot wiser than me. So, how is it going? The speaking in front of many people? The seminars and the outreach programs? The listening and group sharing? I am very glad to witness how you fulfill God's desires for you. Keep it up.
What books have you read? What poems have you written? Okay, I am giving you five minutes to list them down. Also, can you please say it to me again the bible verse that has helped you a lot to get through all the hardships in your life.
See! God is the only way! I am the happiest on Earth to know that you did not give up on Him. Even though sometimes all I heard from Him was plain silence. But His silence meant a lot to me, to you, to us. Now, you're reading this because you trusted Him. And you're still breathing. You've got a lot of more in your life. More energy, more passion and ofc more love. Speaking of which, how's your heart? What's his name? Really? Sounds God's answer huh. After you read this, go and hug him. Show and tell him that it's him you've been praying for. Congratulations and I am very happy to see you this far.
Do you still remember the very reason why you wrote this letter 3 years ago? It was all because of you. January 13, 2022, 2:39 pm you really did not know what to do. I meant you knew what you wanted, but you were so afraid to do it. To make it possible. You badly wanted to quit from your job at the Office of the City Treasurer. You wanted to go back to Lucban, Quezon and continued your life. You badly wanted them, but you were so afraid you could experience again the moneyless-life. You had nothing to lose because you had nothing gained in the first place but self-doubts and unnecessary explanations. I prayed you would find the courage and wisdom to do the next right step.
Congratulations, you did it, Ma'am Maria!
Follow your heart. Pray it all to God.
P.S. COVID-19 pandemic is completely over! Yey!
Sincerely yours,
24-year-old Maria
