A letter from January 1st, 2021

Dear FutureMe, Hey there L, I hope you had a good day today. I wonder if you've played piano or written any songs recently, when you wrote this, you were having serious writers' block. How's school? Stressful, I suppose, you'll have big exams coming up soon, even though through your spiritual awakening, you learnt that school really is a shit system put in place to control us and rarely teaches us anything useful and also limits our creativity by keeping us at desks writing for pretty much all day... you still know that you have to pass them to leave school and get a job where they'll want people with good grades. If you find sitting in your room studying boring, go outside, to the park, or just for a walk while reading your notes, it's so much better, I promise. Have you given Maya his belated Christmas gift yet..and did he like it? The thing you did with the turtles was smart. Are you and Darius talking again? or maybe he told you the truth about what was going on. What about you and Eli, did you tell him about your favourite word in German and why you love it so much? (Kopfkissen) Did he laugh? His laugh is adorable isn't it :) If you're doing school in person, did you ever find out who that guy was who approached you that one day in Business? You said that finding him in a school that big would seem like a challenge, you didn't really know what he looked like, because he was wearing a mask, well if you're friends with him, I hope you guys have fun, you deserve good friends. What does your hair look like now, did you get braids or are you wearing it naturally, fluffy and soft? I hope you've been playing the guitar more too and how are things with you and your mum.. you know how she gets sometimes. Remember if things get really bad, you can always text/call Fionn or call a helpline, but please don't keep it in, it will just damage you more, cry, scream, smash plates if you need to. Have you read that horticultural poem book you got for Christmas? I really do hope that the year is going well for you so far, I'm so proud of you, you matter and you are loved. Love, LB
