Dear FutureMe,
Starting with the date, it's July 19th 2020. Corona virus had me sitting in home for four months in a row. My birthday is this Thursday I'm turning 19.
So the whole idea is for me to write something so you would read it in the future. Before I start with anything, if you're not alive when this is delivered then I hope that before your ***** you've became a person of religion and perhaps started wearing hijab.
Now, I don't know what will happen in the years to come but I truly hope that you get the change that you deserve, I hope you learn new things, go to new places, meet new people and enquire new experiences. If you continued with medicine this would be your last year. If you went on with dentistry then you'll have graduated. In both roads I hope you find peace. I hope you become more passionate about your major, to embrace it and let it become a part of your soul. To find sanctuary and just...be happy. I know the life you have now isn't what you want eventhough you're thankful to Allah for everything, so it would really make me happy to know that you've got the life you deserve, and if you didn't then that's Allah's wish and we do not object to that.
Tell me you learned how to drive, how to cook, how to whistle, how to French braid your hair, how to slay with that effortless confidence you wanted، how to become less socially awkward (or maybe not, I like that about you)، how to speak Latin since you wanted to last year. But most importantly I hope you learned how to love yourself thoroughly and stopped blaming yourself for things you weren't responsible for. I want you to be strong for yourself most importantly and for the ones you love. You are the only one capable of facing your setbacks and changing them to your own benefit.
Be the queen of your own kingdom. The warrior of your own army. The writer of your own story and the alterer of your own destiny.
Just remember one thing, don't be another brick in the wall.
Sincerely, five years ago you.
