A letter from July 4th, 2020

Dear FutureMe, By the time you get this I will have just graduated high school. It’s also currently 4th of July so happy 4th! Things are kinda crazy right now though. It’s felt like we were just getting over all the virus but now everything is shutting back down again. It’s not that bad we’re I live but it’s closing in Davidson county. If you even remember I am doing my limo ride in 2 days and that had to change but overall I got lucky that I can even do it. But aside from that I’m really interesting to see how things have changed- like college. I should know where I want to go right now and weather or not I’m playing sports there. However, I really wanted to use this to remember the past- 5 years ago. Do you still have the same friends or not and do you have new ones. Some of my current friends are Colton, Aric, Justin, Levi, Nathan, Brody, Ivan, Noah, Pryce, and many more that I don’t have time to mention. I just hope that most, if not all of that list hasn’t changed- especially Colton. He’s always been my #1 friend since preschool but as we’ve gotten older we’ve started to disagree with a lot of things. I guess that’s normal though. If you know someone good enough for long enough that we’ve known each other you’ll find a lot of things to disagree on. But besides all of that, things are pretty good. There may me a lot of negatives in the world- and I mean ALOT. But no matter what I feel like we can overcome it. As I’m writing this letter to you though I don’t quite know what is going to happen. Could be good, could be bad. I’ll never know unless I wait. So on other things I want to remember what it was like 5 years from now. So currently I’m talking to Colton, Levi, Aric, and Justin the most. For games I like to play it’s Fortnite and Minecraft. Most people make them out to be childish games but I feel like as long as I’m not the kid wearing those t-shirts to class and stuff and constantly talking about the games, I’ll be alright. Even the most “popular people” still play those games- not that I’m not that popular. Currently I’m loving baseball especially because we just won a tournament and I’m hitting better and farther more consistently than I ever have before. But that seems like all I want to say. I do really hope a whole lot changes, but I hope it changes for the better. I guess I’ll see this in 5 years. Best Wishes, Nolan From 5 Years ago
