Peaceful right?

Dear Future Self, I hope this letter finds you doing well. I am writing this letter in hopes that when you look back and remember the person you were, you will smile. You will smile because everything leading up to where you are now, and every decision you have made along the way, resulting in a person you’re proud of. I just want you to know that we survived these difficult times. For the first time, you chose a path to be independent. Trust me, quarantine wasn’t the best but you enjoyed every single day surviving through online classes and also passing all of them. During the quarantine, I want you to remember you were a strong lady who struggled with self-love but overcomes it. I hope that you continue to take risks and never settle for anything less than the best for yourself. I hope you continue to chase your dreams because it’s never too late to start over. We embrace change and adapt quickly. Keep doing what you love and always say to yourself “I’m beautiful in my own ways”. I hope you have stopped being your worst critic. I have been tough on myself a lot over the years but as I approached 20’s, I care less and less about the small things and I am definitely more comfortable in my own skin. With these realizations, I hope you continue to have a desire to learn and grow, to never stop contemplating how you can be a better version of yourself, and to help others see what they cannot. I hope you traveled and saw places in the world you thought you wouldn’t and made lasting memories with family and friends along the way. I hope you continue to work hard at your relationship, and I sure hope it’s a marriage for you by now. Always remember to put him first, as he was there first. Remember to go on dates, communicate, and never fall out of love. I hear how easy it is to lose this once kids come into the picture. I hope you are happy and I hope you are proud of me and how I got us here today - I am still learning every day how to be a better version of myself and to make sure our future is everything we dreamed of. Most importantly, I hope all of our dreams come true! You’re definitely going to be an amazing nurse. Until we meet, Future Self, Taiwo.
