A letter from June 19th, 2020

Dear Future B, Hello!!! I don’t really know what to say to you directly other than I hope you’re dealing with the fact that you recently turned 30 well... If not, it’ll be okay. Life expectancy keeps rising regardless of all the destruction in the world, which brings me to what this letter is going to be about. Today, June 19th, is Juneteenth. This is an important holiday that has been swept under the rug throughout much of history. However, with what is happening right now, it is finally being recognized like it should’ve been since it happened. What’s happening right now is the Black Lives Matter movement and the call to abolish the oppressive police state we live in currently. I hope within the next five years, the momentum that we all feel right now has not passed or that we have seen serious reform in this country. Sincerely, Past B
