Peaceful right?

Dear FutureMe, I really hope that you are having an amazing life right now. Either getting started in space exploration or playing hockey with the pros. Whatever you are doing, here is a little letter from your past self. Right now, I am in 7th grade at high tech middle media arts. I have good grades and hope that I kept it up. Right now is a pretty weird time for everyone right now because of Covid-19, but we are keeping it together. I really hope that you keep playing guitar and maybe try to get a little better at doing the whole youtube thing. I hope that you are still a very outgoing person and are still making people laugh 24/7. I am writing you this letter to take you back to 7th grade. Script Humanities At the beginning of the year, most of my friends from 5th and 6th grade were not in my class. I kind of felt like I did not belong in that class. I had a horrible mindset of just to get through it and keep your head down. But one day during school I met a kid that sat across the class from me. We became really good friends. It made me want to step out of my comfort zone and meet new people. After that, I met one of his other friends. She was really cool and we became good friends after that. Then I met his friend group. Now I feel like I have so many more friends than before. By the end of it all, I learned that I just need to reach out to more people in life. My friends motivated me to keep writing, they said that they really liked my stories, but they needed just a bit of fixing up to do. I learned that I had a strength for writing. I liked to write before, but now I feel more connected to what I am writing about. I learned a strategy that really worked for me last year, and even though it seems like the most simple one yet, I love it. Asking for feedback. If you don’t get feedback on something that you are working on, you never will know what does not sound right. I always asked my friends if they could check my work to see if anything was wrong. They would always give me good feedback and bad feedback about what I am working on. In the lip balm project, I had to talk to my group to get info on what the labels looked like and what colors we wanted our toobs to be made out of and what flavor to have. There is a lot of collaboration that we had to do to get a good product. I did more collaboration with the other students in math class. We learned about the math norms and how to work together in class. Math Ah math, one of your favorite classes. I really hope that you keep it up with your math skills if you want to go into space. Anyways, math norms, the one that stood out to me the most would be that Mistakes are valuable. This norm means a lot to me, it is saying that you learn from your mistakes. So that you will learn and not do what you did again. If you don’t make mistakes, then you will never learn what not to do. I have shown a lot of growth this year by making mistakes. I learned how to do algebra by messing up then asking for help. Before I made mistakes, the math was very easy and I was not learning anything new, but as soon as something new hit, I started messing up. I felt really bad about myself because I was messing up so bad. One thing that made me not want to ask any questions would be the fact that the teacher just went over the subject, and I did not want to waste anyone else's time because I did not understand. But one time, I got the courage to call the teacher over to help me with my work after we started working. After that, I understood it and felt good about myself for asking my teacher a question and being able to do work that I understood. And lastly, math skills. One math skill that I learned this year would be Circles. We learned about the area of a circle, the circumference of a circle and much more. I had a little bit of trouble with circles, so I asked a bunch of questions just to get a grip of what we were supposed to do. Here is a little explanation of how to find the area of a circle. Let’s say that the diameter is 16 mm. That would mean that the radius is 8 mm. And to find the area you must do A = π 8 squared. (A = π 64) And since pi can also be said as 3.14, we can now do 3.14 x 64 mm which is 200.96 mm. So now we know that the area of the circle is 200.96 mm. Makers And Lastly, we have Makers. You learned a lot in makers. You learned how to use a saw, and how to use different power tools. Here are a few things to remind you of what you did. I learned a lot about myself this year in makers. I learned that I really like to make things out of wood and using power tools. Makers helped me get out of my comfort zone and had me try out new things. Some strengths that I have developed would be my woodworking skills. During the parade project, I cut out a lot of pieces for the float. During the animal carving project, I found and learned different strategies for carving animals. I learned how to cut with the grain and not against it to get a lot smoother cut. Something that I was motivated by would be trying to make the best product that I could. I really hope that you are always trying to make the best product that you can in life. Conclusion In conclusion, I really hope that you have continued to practice working on the step up, step back rule so that other people can get their ideas out and not talk the whole time. I really hope that the book city of ember, so long and thanks for all the fish, and mostly harmless. I just want you to always remember to be yourself, even if something bad happens, or you have to do something challenging. Always remember that you can get through and persevere if you put your mind to it.
