Time Travelled — almost 5 years

A letter from May 22nd, 2020

Peaceful right?

Dear Future Olivia, Today is May 22, 2020. Right now, the whole world is in the middle of a pandemic. Yesterday, for the first time since last year, I went to Central Park with Miranda and Ava. I saw Ryan there with Izzy and we talked for a little, stopping by frequently to pet Izzy and talk to Ryan. He said that he liked my hair now that it’s pink. I love it. It’s different and fun. By the time you read this, I hope you will have somewhat long hair for prom. Friends. It’s hard to keep relationships lasting during quarantine and that made me realize that this is probably the best time to get rid of the bad relationships and to start making new, better ones. Caleb has been out of my life since the beginning of March, except for one incident. Me and Emma “accidentally” sent him a video and he blew a fuse calling us “so mature” also while he sat there calling us “anime”. So we’re the immature ones, right. Anyway, Jaxson is really being a jerk, and Xayden, well, Xayden is Xayden. You’re not gonna change him. I think you’re just better off with Emma and Trevor. Eva has also agreed to give me a try so that’ll be fun. After all this quarantine I hope that we can go back to a mostly normal lifestyle; going to the park every day, seeing Emma every day, riding around SL and getting ice cream, learning how to skateboard, the beach! In June, I’m going to Myrtle Beach with Dad. I ordered these air pod things called Luce Pods in the color sky blue on Wednesday. I really hope they get here before the flight on June 21st. The 22nd is when we go to Myrtle beach. Just me, dad, Tyler, and dad’s girlfriend Danielle. I’m flying out to Baltimore on the 21st, staying overnight at a hotel, and then we’re driving to Myrtle Beach at the crack of dawn. I am SO excited. The only thing I’m worried about is Tyler being Tyler. The annoying little brother that was practically raised as an only child and who gets whatever he wants. But, I guess since I only get to see him once a year, it won’t be so bad. The bass guitar is going great. Same with the clarinet. I know a couple of songs on the ukulele and the same with the piano. I just fixed the guitar so I’m excited to start learning how to play that too. I was so excited for Fund Jam and Jazz Festival, but, they all got canceled. We even missed the Memorial Day parade which SUCKS. I was probably most excited about that. Oh well. There’s always next year I guess. I don’t know how old I’ll be when I read this next, but, I know that I can and will do great. Sincerely, 7th Grade Olivia Lucas
