Dear FutureMe,
It is 1:18 am on Saturday May 16, 2020, the day before your 15th birthday. At this point in your life, you’re sad. But you keep it inside, posting on your snapchat, insta, tiktok, like you’re happy. You don’t have many close friends, and you don’t have a boyfriend. By the time you receive this you’ll be 19 about to be 20. I hope things have changed and you’ve found yourself. I hope you have a more positive view on life and yourself and what others think of you. And I hope you finally realize that you are beautiful and don’t need validation from anyone else to realize that. I’m typing these words now, and I know that I should believe what I’m saying, but I can’t. Thats why im sending this to myself so that in 5 years I do realize that all this is true and I am beautiful and I don't need to worry about what others are saying or thinking about me. And if you haven’t realized it, I hope this letter comes as a sign to you, to force you to realize. Now we talk about COVID-19. This historic pandemic that is sure the make the books, and in 20 years they will be telling our kids about it in school. I really hope that in 2025 its over and you can go live your life in college with friends and figure out who you are without state quarantine laws and all that bs. I also hope you’ve been on a **** plane. In my 15 years of living I’ve never been on a plane or anywhere farther than Georgia. I hope you finally lived your dream of going to Italy. And remember how bad you wanted to go as an exchange student in Australia!!! This is a sign, DO IT! You need to get out more and go on adventures. Spend more time with your family, they love you. Anyways Im gonna wrap this up, but just remember to love yourself and don’t let anyone make you doubt your love for yourself. Okay bye. Love, 15 year old me.
PS, Get a dog.
