Peaceful right?

Dear FutureMe, I'm writing this letter to you at a very interesting time in life. Its currently May 15, you just got done with your AP US History exam but no it didn't occur in the gym of AHS as you probably remember, it happened in your kitchen on your school laptop. The reason for this as you'll never forget is the legendary Covid-19. The pandemic started after spring break. You and all your friends thought you all would go back to school but alas, you never got to see your 1st period again or sing your final choir concert. You never got to say goodbye and good luck to the many faces you'd never see again. Instead you quarantined in your room and did school on a laptop (well you attempted). It felt surreal at first, driving down the empty streets and going to the stores and seeing hesitant eyes and covered mouths. After a while I guess it started to feel normal. Right now, I feel kind of outside myself and if I'm being honest I've felt that way a lot. You look at everyone around you going through the changes and its just...weird. Mom really had the most. All her school was put online and she kept stressing about the online videos she had to make for the first couple of weeks. She went like 3 days without sleeping it was crazy. I really started to appreciate what she was doing and how much work she put into her students. Dad had to completely transform the restaurant, not that he minded. He started doing all orders online and it was kind of scary at first but ultimately it all worked out. And of course, Elvis. You already know how that went. Came back from college 3 months early. It was hard. You know it was hard. Your whole world changed, suddenly you went from being alone most days of the week to having your whole family here and they were inescapable. I think you remember how that felt. Apart from that, being online sucks. I have no motivation and staring at the screen makes my head ache with pain. Definitely taught you to not take school for granted. You see how I keep switching between "I" and "you"? yeah. I don't really know how this is supposed to go. So to end this I'm gonna say the top things I've learned: 1. Be more social with your peers, talk more, laugh more, engage more. 2. Appreciate hard work. 3. Don't take life for granted. 4. Go to the movies more and malls and restaurants. 5. In the end, everything works out okay. Love, you from the past.
