A letter from May 13th, 2020

Dear FutureMe, Hi...? I'm almost-eighteen-Joyce! How are you? I'm in the last 2-3 weeks of senior high school... how's life now? Have you finished college yet? How is/was it? I hope you're doing well, I hope, somehow, you're happy - or on the way to be happy. How's mom? dad? everyone? Are you still connected to your friends? Yeet and Tuzki? You're like 22 now! [Taylor Swift blasts thru the speakers] Although, going to be 23 hahaha wow,,, that's old. Mom's cooking adobo, right now. Have you learned to cook for yourself? I guess enough questions for now. I'll talk about where I am now, and you'll tell me where you are ok? Again, 2-3 weeks left of high school. On the very verge of finishing this **** research (wow, have you done your thesis right now?). Kinda losing motivation to finish these remaining requirements. Been feeling insecure too, so that's not a good combination. I've been struggling a lot with liking how I look. Because I don't think I Look good. And 18-year-olds look soooo good right? Why not me? I'm not ****, pretty, or anything. Just plain. And stressed. Oh my god, yeah! We're in the middle of the COVID-19 Pandemic. Been in the house for, like, 3 months now? How did the country cope with it? Were there anyone you knew who were affected? It's kind of a waking-up thing. You realize who supports the wrong, who's privileged, and all that. I hope that wasn't me. It was hard, the first month. Being alone with your thoughts. Trapped in a house with your family. I love them of course, but... alone time y'know? I've been liking musicals a lot. How's that interest now? My dream is to go to Broadway, venture through the streets of New York? Am I somehow close to the dream now? I wish you're well.
