A letter from May 12th, 2020

Dear Benji, By this time you should already be in college by now hopefully playing football or doing track maybe even both. Either way hopefully you're attending a college. The person you are today may be different than who you were 5 years ago, who knows, you might have different people around and if not maybe it's still the same people. Hopefully you’re still able to keep in touch with all of your friends that you have as I’m typing this letter. The thing that shouldn’t change is your ambitions, what you want to get out of life. You know what you want, and you know the reason you’ve been working hard through this quarantine that we’re going through right now. Yes, this is a time that will go down in history but hopefully you still have the ambition to also go down in history. Keep striving to be great, don’t settle for satisfaction. At the time that i'm writing this you that you've done everything possible to get better for track AND for football and hopefully you still know in your heart that you can still work hard to be the greatest you can be and to be striving to get somewhere in life to not only help yourself but to help your family. You know that there’s people counting on you and you know where you come from. You know that you control your destiny and I hope you know that you are the person that defines you. Be proud of who you are and remember that nothing can stop you from getting to where you wanna be. Don’t let your family down because trust me they’re proud of everything you've done. So show them that you can keep doing more. Show them that you can be bigger than the person you are now and the person that you will be. Keep your doors open and when you have an opportunity to do something, make sure you take advantage of it and make sure you're the best to ever do it. Sincerely your blast from the past, Benji
