Dear Hao Wen in 2025,
I’m writing you this letter from 5 years ago, which is 2020. I hope you’re doing well now and I think you should be a successful entrepreneur now(haha).
5 years ago, which is the day I wrote this letter, the world is facing the COVID-19 pandemic and we are reaching 280 thousand deaths worldwide right now. The outbreak originated from Wuhan, China since October 2019 and it has been spreading worldwide since then. Malaysia is currently having Movement Restriction Order(MCO) and all citizens have to stay and home and are not allowed to go out except for working and grocery shopping, where only one family member is allowed.
A lot of people felt bored and meaningless here because they are restricted in their own house and there isn’t a lot of entertainment. However, I personally felt comfortable with the MCO because I felt like I have more autonomy over my life as I can plan my life better and now I’m having a healthy lifestyle and I have more time to do the things that I like and can spend time with my loved ones. I learned that we should always spend time with our parents despite how busy we are through MCO.
I hope I still remember my own passion and my goal to become a successful entrepreneur after 5 years. Even if you aren’t successful, hope you are still striving and working hard to achieve your dreams and your ultimate goal which is to achieve financial freedom. Do remember that great work comes from great sacrifice, and I hope you’ll always bear that in mind.
That’s all for today. I hope you will be motivated after reading the letter. Do remember your intentions and I know you are born for great things in your life. All the best and good luck to you!
From,
Hao Wen in 2020
