Dear FutureMe,
COVID-19, the pandemic in 2019 became a serious threat to humanity as of speaking (May 02, 2020). It has affected the economy in general. The stay at home order has become a blessing to somebody but not to everybody. Some people are working from home and some have temporarily lost their jobs. Others are furloughed while others such as the front lines are commanded to fight this seemingly endless battle. Cities across the world are put on lockdown, the bustling cities that were once so vibrant have become less fancy and lifeless. Many have lost their lives in the process of protecting people while others have to sacrifice in order for everybody to live. I once thought there isn't any hope for humanity, these have become eye-openers. I witness the good in many people despite the unimpressive few. It has been almost 8 weeks since the Enhanced community quarantine in my city begun.
I have a terrible confession, I must say that I didn't suffer as much as others do. Aren't I soulless? I feel no deep compassion for those who are suffering. Do I lack LOVE? In my subconscious, I downplay the severity of it all. I am questioning my morals my values. I seem to care less. I am not anxious about the situation around me. I am anxious for I feel no sympathy at all. I am not a bad person, It just really came in not at first hand. In spite of my dull emotions, I am helping people although it's not out of sympathy. I am helping people because I feel the responsibility that I must take part in to be able to be called a person with emotions, emotions I can't seem to sort out but I know in the future it will be all worthwhile. They may not matter to me now, but I know It will.
Amidst this life-threatening tale of the century. I pray that we could overcome this with our combined efforts, benevolence, and LOVE to one another.
We will get through it safe and sound! AMEN.
This will be a history we're going to be proud of telling in 5 years.
BEST regards
