A letter from April 30th, 2020

Dear FutureMe, Hi it’s you today is April 29 2020. I’m at Santa Rita on the swings. I’ve been listening to a lot of Lana del Rey recently. I hope she’s not dead, there’s corona right now. The government is talking about starting school in July which is really sucky. Vendelas doing dance right now. Did you get to Europe? New York City? Did you at least get out of California? I hate it here. Specifically Los Altos, maybe this is just my teenage bull **** but I really hope you got out of here. Maybe Paris or Italy? I’ve been on these swings for a long time and thinking about the future. It’s the only thing which keeps me going and I know it’s stupid and unrealistic but it’s better than being completely hopeless. I dream about Europe and who I’ll meet there. Have you watched Call Me by Your Name 2? I assume you don’t like Timothee anymore, or Matthew Gray Gubler. Those are my favorites right now but everything changes fast about me. Which school do you go to? I wish I could get a glimpse into the future to see if it’s even worth it to keep going. You’re about Anna’s age right now but now that’s crazy to think about. Are you still friends with nicole? If not you should text her and tell her about this. If you are text her too. I haven’t been able to hang out with her lately because of corona but I miss her. Do you still ride? Which horse? It’s dumb that I’m asking questions it’s not like you can answer. Anyway I kinda don’t have anything else to say. I feel like I should tell you something else, or this is gonna be a waste of time. If you live somewhere besides Cali go put in your calander next time you go home to go to the swing at santa rita and listen to “summer bummer” by lana del rey or “futile devices” from cmbyn to get the full experience of 15 year old you. My favorite food is boba. Do you talk to mom? How’s dad? I miss him a lot. Go text him too.
