Peaceful right?

Dear FutureMe, You should be receiving this mid-sophomore year, i'd assume. It's entirely possible that you're going to remember sending this, because your life has been moving faster for the last six months than you can ever remember. As I (you... well whatever, pronouns) are writing this, you're sitting on the plaid couch in your living room at home... NH home, not school home. Every time you've come home you feel more and more like you don't belong.. is it getting more intense this year? School became your home in ways you hadn't even hoped for, if we remember correctly. we seems appropriate for the personal pronoun by the way, so we'll be sticking to that. As you write this it's Saturday, the sixth of march. Last night you saw Alice in Wonderland with Ari, V, and Em. The movie was beautiful, and all you really wanted afterward was a discussion on symbolism, religion, and existentialism... no such luck. Maybe you can talk to Josh about it when you get home. School home. Which reminds me, are you still close with josh? If you're not, that is certainly something worth correcting. Join Law and Justice again. Last night you talked to Ari. It was a landmark conversation for the two of you, the homo versus hetero discussion was pretty major. That, at the least, you will remember. I do hope you've kept up with Ari. We know you can't handle another Paige-break. That whole thing sneaked back into your awareness about two weeks ago, do you remember? You spent hours at work going through all the old emails you could find, then you cried. Not to dwell on the past... nope, that's futile. this is an email from your past self. Your life occurs entirely at college now. You still miss Ari and Emily while you're at school, and like being with V, Ryan, and Sarah, but everything's different. There's a reason you keep college friends forever. I do hope you've kept up with Nick and Joe. They won't be living with you, but i think we know you'll regret it if you lose them. Luckily, you couldn't lose Laura if you tried. Let her read this email at some point... i mean it's not like you spend any time away from her, if sophomore year is even remotely like freshman year. I hope we've stayed close with Emily too, and that Jenny will stay a friend even if sometihng happens with nate, and for the love of all that's good in the world, I hope we have grown up enough to stop begrudging Christine over her interest in Nick. Honestly, self, you're being childish. We've been permitting your childishness in this arena this year because the whole BOY thing is still embarrassingly new to you, but seriously? We expect you to be behaving maturely by sophomore year. and if we aren't, SHAME ON US. By now Emily's probably going out of her mind, as a sidenote. You remember how you were senior year... So now that you're reading this I expect you to run over to Walmart, buy her some candy, and send her a delightful care package ASAP. Shame on you for not having sent anything (we know you won't... you're miserable at correspondences). Anyways, you need to take a shower right now (in the past) because you've just gone for a bike ride (AND YOU ARE OUT OF SHAPE MADAM. GET TO THE GYM!!) and are rather disgusting as a result. Past me hopes that future me is doing well in all aspects, and has the greatest faith in our ability to overcome whatever is currently destroying us. Just think: so far freshman year you've survived -shots on a wednesday -james -halloween -nick and the iPhone -joe/smash -joanna -environmental science Just keep swimming, just keep swimming, just keep swimming, swimming, swimming. What do we do? We swim, SWIM! HO HO HO HO HO HOOOO i like to swiiiiiiiiiim if you WAAANT to swim you want to SWIM! ♥ pastme
