Time Travelled — almost 3 years

PAST SELF TO FUTURE SELF

Mar 22, 2016 Mar 17, 2019

Peaceful right?

Oh Future Self, Maybe I do this every three years, because the last one I wrote was from 2013, and I had just turned 20. (Go find that email) So I turn 23 today. I am sitting at my desk at BHH Engineers / Blackney Hayes Architects. Ami Amegan, someone who I didn’t even consider close until the very end of my college, got me the job and her and I have become good friends as a result. Where do you work now? What happened at BHA? Remember your old angry boss Andrew O’Pella? Did he explode? In my last letter I was dating Maxime. This letter I will tell you about Allegra Armstrong. Allegra and I have been dating for a little over 1.5 years. We don’t actually have a set date, so it’s hard to measure. Allegra is a very interesting and complicated person. Our relationship both serious and casual. It’s hard to really describe. She accepts me for who I am, and I try and do the same. I like her lots. We acknowledge our impermanence. What happened to the relationship? My best friends are now a trio: Max, Diego, and Harrison. My relationship with the three of them has become strained recently. Diego hooked up with Paige, breaking up Paige and Max and Max and Diego. Therefore I can no longer see Diego and Max together which is tough because I live with Max. Living with Max is pretty great, but he brings out this mother in myself that I can’t control, and I don’t always like. We’re not living together after this. My relationship with Harrison is strained because before I moved in with Max, I was supposed to move in with Harrison, but I bailed on him on that. We didn’t talk for a while but now we’re getting better. I’m not worried, because as my best friends, we will get through all this. I also hang out with Zeke, Jess, Adam, Mal, Emma, and more. Life is good. I graduate college. It was the best thing that ever happened to me. In the last three years, I got to study abroad in South Korea, which led me to meet Casper and travel Indonesia together. Which was life changing. Then after Zia and I graduated college we went on Birthright which was amazing as well. After birthright I extended and backpacked through Europe, also amazing. Remember those trips? I’ve been to so many countries. Next up is South America 2017 (hopefully). Did you go? Was it amazing? Hablas mas espanol? I want to work for the State Department as a Foreign Service Officer. I saw a presentation for one and it just seemed like an amazing way to travel, work, and get a bunch of money. Hopefully I will pass my test next year. I also think I should get the cert and be a PE. How are your goals coming along? Do you still go to a TON of concerts? I’ve been averaging more than 2 a month in 2016 so far. I love live music so much. Obvi you haven’t if you’re a FSO So that’s the jist of it. I work 40 hours a week, my job is alright, but I LOVE being employed. I love making money. Feels good to pay off debts, which are endless. I graduated with 130K, how much do I have 3 years from now in 2019? You’re 26 now! Mid 20’s. You’re still young enough to do whatever it is you’re trying to do. Don’t forget that. I still draw stickers a bit, my art is more developed but it’s still Yerp. Keep it real, and remember whats good. Aidan Jamison, 23 March 17, 2016 P.S. What's the status of Jamison vs Jamison-Frank ?
