A letter from June 1st, 2013

Dear Future Me, Last year was really hard for us, we went through a LOT of bullshit. Remember the move to Michigan from Florida? Yeah that was fun. Great way to spend Valentine's day with Derrick. 28 hours in a Penske truck with a doped up cat and back problems. Lovely. And that hellish 2 weeks we spent with Cheri? How are things with her now? Do we talk? Last year, we hated her. How is it now? We started school in the fall at Baker for our EMT license again. How did that go? Did we do as well as you did the first time? Ah, I knew we'd be fine. We did it before and dammit we did it again. Thank the GODS we didn't go to Devry. How much bullshit would THAT have been? 50k in debt wouldn't have done us and Derrick any good. Glad we dodged that bullet. He really is the best husband in the world to us, be sure to still be as thankful for him now as you were last year. How is our little blind boy booboo bear? Is he still here or did we have to take him to the vet for mom? He was like 15 last year, if he's still kicking, it would be amazing. Remember, if he's still around, we have to be sure to be patient with him. It is TOTALLY not his fault he can't see anymore and yes it's frustrating, but he has been our dog since we were juniors in high school. We're 26 now. If he's still here, make sure his golden years are all we can make them for him. Have we started our paramedic training yet? I hope so. Don't ever forget that our goal is to be a specialized paramedic in 2 years. We can do it. We love ems work and hopefully we're in a hospital and not a truck. If we are in a truck, remember, DON'T EAT JUNK FOOD ON THE TRUCK! We worked our ASS off to get fit and tight. Don't fuck that up for us. Also, a good indicator that we're gaining some of that weight back is if our underwear gets too tight again. Remember those days? Yeah. Don't go back to that. Do we still watch Jenna Marbles every Wednesday? Of course we do, it's Jenna fucking Marbles. Dumb question, moving on. A few days before we wrote this for us, Miss Gina B told us that she was pregnant. Was it a girl like we predicted? Or a boy like Derrick and Davis wanted? Did Gina and Davis get married yet? We know we loved being her maid of honor. And if it didn't happen yet, we're gunna be. How is Amy holding up in California? Do we even still talk to her? Are we still driving that piece of shit Alero? Or did Derrick finally scrap it? I hope at least the float got fixed in the gas tank. That would be nice. And how is mom doing? Is she still drinking or did we get through to her when we told her she needed to stop. Last year around this time she was doing really well, but we never know how it's going to go with her. Do we still write in our deadjournal? We used to use that as therapy when we needed to vent. I hope we still do, that journal got us through some hard ass times. There is a million and one things we could ask ourselves, but I think this is good for now. Remember what we told ourselves: Stay focused in school, that was our 5 year plan. Love Derrick every day as much as we did when we first married him. We're doing really good right now with opening up and being emotionally vulnerable. Keep at it, it's making our relationship stronger. Be nice to booder bear, he's old and being blind has to really suck dick. Don't stuff your face like your a fatty. We aren't anymore. Keep it that way. Remember the days of tight underwear and blown out thighs in our jeans. Never again. I love you future me. I always have and I always will.
