A letter from May 21st, 2020

Dear FutureMe, It's so weird to think that when future me is reading this you probably (hopefully) won't be living at home, have earned a college degree, and who knows what your love life will be like. Present Humna just finished her first year of college (partially online) due to Coivd and while this was not the best first year, it definitely created some big goals for the next 3 years. I also just recently became single after a year and a half of being with Prince. He was such a great first for everything but I could not be more excited to be independent chasing my goals and aspirations. How cliche is it that I'm excited to "find myself". I was supposed to be traveling to Singapore in a week but hey everything happens for a reason right? Present Humna still does not know exactly what her career goals are but I hope future me got an exciting job in New York (the United Nations) or discovered something even better. I don't know how COVID will affect traveling but I hope you got to travel alone and continue to do that until you find "the one". Present-day Humna isn't too excited about relationships and just figures that one will work out on its own. As far as friendships I really hope you stayed close to Chloe mf Tiengerd, she is a gem in this world. I also hope you stayed in touch with Alexis, Crystal, DJ, Samih, and Trevv. I wonder what college friends you will make that end up being lifelong friends. Random but I think it's worth noting- You also dyed your hair red during quarantine because that's so you but I hope you went to brown/black. Ah future me, I really hope you're just happy, successful, sorting out new aspirations, making a difference in the world, and appreciating your family. (I would love to be in love but the independent ***** in me knows its not a necessity) Live, Laugh, Love girl, I'm rooting for you! Love, 18 year old Humna
