Hi Sarah-bear!
This is 23-year-old you chiming in. I just received my second FutureMe letter from a year ago. A lot has happened since the last one, but really you're still the same person. You still get the same joy and happiness from little things you see, like the way light shines through the backs of leaves or blades of grass. And watching your nephew grow, or making a stranger feel like someone special and sacred, even when they're down and out.
Chris and I moved in to a studio apartment and wound up with two dogs! Who knew you guys would be pitbull owners! And who knew you would become a black-lab owner on account of your pitbull biting her eye out as a puppy! Hopefully they're a little more mature and laying at your feet in a pile of black and brindle furry calm.
You made your first big sale of art this last year. I can't remember the numbers, but it was pushing $1,000. Not bad for doing something you love! Remember to always keep it playful. If it's not play, then put the brush down and get a real job.
Give a kiss to Chris! He is the sweetest man you've ever met! You really are a lucky one. Never forget how handsome and kind and loving he is to you!
mmm, 24.... age doesn't mean the same thing to me as most people. I'm not scared of getting older. I will always feel like a new soul, so I'm happy and blessed to watch myself unfold like a tea leaf in warm water. I'm so excited for how much more I have to unfold-- how many more people I have yet to love, how many more times the sun will hit my face, how many more snails and caterpillars I have yet to encounter.
Hopefully you will know some more things about foraging wild goods. You live in a place of abundance. I hope you're gaining all sorts of new skills. Remember what mama told you; save the 'no's' for the big things. Meaning, say 'yes!' a lot! Follow your bliss, explore, get sidetracked. Play in the mud! Kiss and hug and laugh! Please remember that you are beautiful and so is everyone around you. Keep your hear light.
Love always,
Sarah at 23
