A letter from November 5th, 2018

Dear Isabella, I hope this finds you living your absolute best life. It’s been about 5 years and I hope you are thriving wherever you are. I will say that I will be very disappointed if you have not already gotten your Bachelor’s Degree and on your way to get another degree. The grind is not stopping as I am writing this, and I sure hope it is not stopping for you. I am currently writing this as I waiting for Obama to speak at Morehouse College. Obviously, knowing your family history and background, you are no stranger to political protests and rallies. It is one of my hopes that you will continue this tradition and introduce it to your possible children. The involvement in politics has never been more imperative. I just want to write this in existence: that ignorant, misogynistic, racist, overcompensating, hamster-headed Cheeto better be out of office or in jail. The world actually went back in time and all the closeted-racists are showing their true colors. The change begins with you, so please, don’t ever stop. We will never rest until the world is equal again. In addition to all of my other demands, my most important one is that you have actually found happiness. I know the Georgian suburbs are so incredibly miserable, so I hope you have found a way out somehow. You deserve to be happy after everything that has happened to you. Keep on keeping on. If it hasn’t come already, your time of living your best life will come.
