Time Travelled — almost 4 years

A letter from January 22nd, 2016 (REMEMBER ME BROSKI)

Jan 22, 2016 Jan 22, 2020

Peaceful right?

Dear future self, I am writing to you 5 years ahead of time to make sure that you are doing alright, and that you have not yet given up on working on yourself. By this time you are getting to the ripe old age of 26, so you've become quite an old fucker. Nonetheless, by this time I will have expected you to have accomplished a few things (barring any fortunate/unfortunate events that occur between now and "your time"). 1) You must have planned on at the very least on getting a house/place to live in with roz (or whichever girlfriend you might have at the time cause, let's be honest, youz a lady killer). Also don't forget she wants a shibe named pog and gherkin for some strange reason. 2) You must have by this point reached the grand 315lb bench press, gone far past 500lb deadlift, and reached the terrifying 400lb squat (although cause of your left leg I won't be too dissapointed if you dont manage that squat). 3) Your CV at this point must begin to be looking like one of the most reputable ones for a marine scientist (This can of course change in case you decide you want to go down a different line of work). I also hope that by now, you have bit the bullet in working places you may not have wanted to, so that you are in a much better position for the future ahead. 4) Don't forget about your family, EVER. Mom, Dad, and especially Ted McDoucheface all require at the very least weekly attention. Never forget what they've done for you, family come first. 5) I hope you're still pushing yourself and that nothing's changed, and that although you must be content with where you are, never be fully satisfied and always strive to improve yourself (A hardened stone is always harder to break). Finally, I have to say the most important thing of all, that almost beats everything else I've said together. Can you remember what it is? If not then it's a damn good thing I'm writing this right now. The most important thing you must remember is to BE HAPPY. Don't ever give up on yourself, love yourself to the very bitter fucking end and don't ever let ANYONE change that. Your happiness comes first, PERIOD. It may be a great thing if the chance ever comes along to do what you've always dreamed of doing (The ultimate sacrifice, remember?), but priority is to make sure you are happy, it always has been. Now that you've read all of this, try not to get too nostalgic and start thinking of the past and "oh what could have been", because trust me, you've been doing that enough for the past 20 years. Focus on the PRESENT (which is future for me lel) and the initial future you have, and finish what you fucking started. The journey may have just begun for me, but it sure as hell isn't ending anytime for you either. Good luck and see you soon, Yourself.
