Time Travelled — almost 3 years

A letter from May 30th, 2012

Peaceful right?

Dear FutureMe, So it is May 30th 2012...what's happening this week? Nan is in hospital for her second week, you are preparing to move to Aylesbury and it is the jubilee weekend. Right now you are 'dating' hot soldier boy Mark and trying to get through the most pointless week of clinical skills before going into you're first placement. That's right, it's student nurse you! I'm sending this for a few weeks after you finish, to make sure you are still you! I want you to take a few moments and remember why you wanted to be a nurse, remember howit was big nans treatment in that skanky care home that made you want to make a change? To help, nurture and heal! 2012 you wanted to work somewhere worthwhile and later become a practitioner, this may have changed but i hope the first part still counts. I want you to think where you are, is it where you thought you'd be? Are you with someone? Or you happy? A lot can happen in three years but I know you'd never compromise you're own happiness so I'm guessing you're doing ok. I guess this is some kind of pep talk, now youve qualified and you've had a few weeks to get your head round the fact that it's you whizzing round the wards brandishing meds pots, catheters and injections like a crazy women. Never foget why you started, never loose sight of the good you can do and a lil bit of hard work will get you where you want! if you forgot sending this, you was not drunk, you was sat it the table in Gaddesden Crescent eating peanut butter on toast and drinking coffee! Love from your past self!
