Dear Future Charlie,
My little man.
I am writing thins on November 6th, 2009. You are almost 11 weeks old.
The most important thing you need to know, is how wanted you were. The day you were born, it was like I let out a huge sigh. My life was perfect. Everything was now the way it was supposed to be. We had our son.
You are such a good baby, and I know you will be such a good kid, and an amazing man. Just like your Daddy.
More than all the 'man stuff' your Dad will teach you, the most important thing that I want him to teach you, is how to treat a girl. From the moment I met your Dad, he was different. He was a tough guy, yes, but he was so genuine, so nice to me. He was ALWAYS full of compliments. Whether I was dressed to the nines, or 9 months pregnant in my fat pants, he ALWAYS made me feel beautiful.
Please be nice to girls. Always. Don't pressure them or tease them. Be their best friend, but be honest with them. Don't lead them on. Girls hearts get broken very easily. You will have the power to crush a girl's spirit. Don't.
Study. Play sports. Be active, fun and smart.
Don't take the easy way. Don't be lazy. Be a doctor or a lawyer or a rocket scientist. Don't settle. You are smart enough.
Wear your seatbelt.
Be kind to everyone.
Waterski and play the guitar. (Not at the same time, necessarily).
Find a smart girl to marry, but don't do it until you've travelled and got an education.
Have a big wedding with lots of guests and lots of great music. Because I get to dance with the grrom.
Love you so much (to the moon and back),
Mommy
