A letter from October 17th, 2016

Dear FutureMe, This is you, from the past. Happy birthday! Your son Bernardo is almost 10, be sure to get him something special. How is he? I can't wait to meet him. Tell him I love him already. Is he shy like we used to be? Does he look like his mom? I hope you guys have a stronger bond than ever. It's ok if you don't, though. Let me tell you what's going on with me. I received a letter 4 days ago from our past self, when we had just started college (the first one). You should read it again. It made me think of how things can change so drastically. We were still mourning the end of our relationship with Jessica, and then Isabel came along. We used to love music. Do you still listen to Shostakovich? The 11th symphony is the best! I met Flavia almost 3 years ago, and now you have a 10 year old boy! I'm super excited. Tell her I love her deeply. But I'm also scared ********. I hope that I can still continue my studies, do a Master's degree in computer science, and work with compiler research. I hate being a code monkey working with glorified CRUD apps. I also had this dream of living abroad. I hope I get to do that, even if it's just temporary. Whatever it is you're doing with your life, keep studying. And be a good father (I know, I know, it's easier said than done). I love you man.
