Dear FutureMe,
I don't know if you'll ever get this letter. This was me, exactly 10 years ago. This was me. I was me. I have no idea how the hell it's going to work out, and to be honest I'm scared of the future. Right now I want to either go to Norway for college and then go into the Marines or the Army and work towards being a medic, or go to West Point and serve my country. I hope my dreams and ambitions are the same. Right now I want to work in medicine, and if I do make it into the military and serve as a medic I want to work as an ATC after attending a Uni. I'm not sure what I'm going to do directly after high school, since I'm only 14 right now. Maybe you'll end up getting this while you're serving in some far away country, perhaps Jordan or Turkey. Maybe you're at home, comfortably nested in Philly doing office work or perhaps in New Jersey repairing vehicles and machine **** for the Army. Maybe you're on the front lines of some terrible war that erupted in the future. I don't know.

If you get this, check up on Ana. When you were writing this, I was concerned about her future. She's going to be attending a not-so-nice school in a county with a serious heroin problem. If you can find her, ask her what she's doing now. If I can recall correctly at the time of me writing this, she wanted to work as a therapist or a nurse. Maybe, if you can find her, catch a flight and go visit her.
~~~~~
Take a look at Evan too, see if the Marines have been nice to him if he's made it.
When you were writing this letter, you were taking short breaks to practice the violin. If you get this letter, and you're not playing still, pick it up again! The violin is beautiful and I think that you should keep going. I was doing the first line of Happy Farmer and I was getting so pissed because of the bowing techniques that I had to use. I would play Menuet 2 or Menuet 3 to calm myself down, learning from the Suzuki books. I just got a new, heavier bow and I'm so excited for it! I'm also going to be going to a luthier's shop in a few days to check out more violins. I went to a music store and we're renting one right now, with the option to buy it. I'm in love with the instrument right now.
~~~~~
If you're reading this, I haven't ended it.
~~~~~
Check up on Mom and Dad. They'll miss you, a lot.
~~~~~
Call Sara and Gil. At the time of writing this, you haven't seen them in years.
~~~~~
To my future self, if you're in a hard place, get up off your *** and look for decent jobs this same day. No excuses, remember what Dad would say?
~~~~~
If you're still here, go look at your Steam account. You probably stopped using it for a while, but there's a lot of games in my account that I think you'll have fun reminiscing about.
~~~~~
Remember Rainmeter? Do it on your new PC, I think it makes it a thousand times more enjoyable to use.
~~~~~
Go out and have fun. Confining yourself to the same place over and over, for years on end, will destroy you.
~~~~~
Pick up the piano again. You were quite good as a child, so go find a teacher and do it again.
~~~~~
Right now I'm 14. You'll be 24. Don't drink yourself to ***** or start doing things like heroin or meth or crack or coke. I want to live a long life.
~~~~~
Me in the future, I'm probably going to be sending more of these, so keep an eye out for them. I wish you could come back in time and tell me what to do, to take that one girl out or apply for this one job that I would've done well or help out this one friend or cut off another friend. I'm scared of the future right now, because I don't know what I'll do. So, I am me. I hope that you are not me, because a person should continuously change. I hope you are you, and that you share my same characteristics.
Love,
~Me~
P.S.- As I'm writing this, I like Eminem's older stuff, NWA, a bunch of other old rap stuff, I like Coldplay and Approaching Nirvana and Christopher Tin, Bob Marley, and I play Civilization V and I'm hyped for Civ6 and you're typing this on a Surface Pro 1. Right now it's storming outside at 79 degrees. I'm wearing gym shorts and a 'LaSalle Explorers' tee that's a size too big and I'm wearing prescription glasses, branded 'RayBan.' There's so much more about me that I have to tell, so I will. When you get this, start looking out for more of these letter to myself that will be scattered around. Today, in 2016, I am a scared teenager and 2026 is a long ways away. 10 years, to me, is an eternity.
