Dear FutureMe,
I can’t believe that as you’re reading this you’ll be 31 years old!!!!! Today is Sunday May 1st. You and Sky (your boyfriend, as you’ll probably never forget) organized this wonderful Neighborhood Brunch for Kingman. The weather is sunny, and warm. You wrote most of this on top of the roof and finished it in the living room near Ari and Sky. You also had an orientation for your New Zealand study abroad trip, of which you were totally freaking out about but now it really feels right to leave. You and Sky talked about your relationship and future plans. As of now it seems like you’ll stay together but who knows what will happen. It is one of those situations where you like him more than he likes you but that's okay because you like him so much. I really hope you’re happy Kim. I also hope that you feel fully loved! Not only sometimes but all of the time, especially when things seem to be going wrong with your partner. My plan as of now is to study abroad, come back to Washington DC to meet up with Sky (if he chooses to do cityyear). I want to make my goals and contribution to our society a priority but I also want to be in love and share my experiences with someone. Hopefully things work out and I don’t have to end up choosing between my career and my partner.
In regards to the world ← I am doing this for extra credit for a class and also because I think it’s super cool! I hope that the world is a more socially equitable place. I hope Trump does not become president. I hope to be a leader towards Environmental Justice. I am not totally sure what I want to do when I graduate but I am interested in hydrology and improving its infrastructure to make it more sustainable.
In my life I hope I have explored the world and I hope I am married (it feels ridiculous saying that but I’ll be 31).
Your friend, protector, and soul mate,
Kim at 21 years old
