Dear FutureMe,
Today Microsoft unveiled "Holoportation", a new Augmented Reality technology using their Hololens to "teleport" people to other parts of the world. On reddit, someone commented that in 10 years these types of cameras will be everywhere. This gave me a chilling thought that in the future, companies such as Microsoft and Google will be able to map our homes in 3D, in real time. This is somewhat terrifying, but also very cool. Imagine, being able to pull up Google or Microsoft and be able to determine what new furniture you should buy. Imagine, being able to place furniture in your house to see how it would actually look! That would be amazing! Now, I'm sure this technology would allow for far greater things than interior design, but that's just a thought I had at the moment. The future will surely be a terrifying and remarkable place! Oh, and one reason I'm sending this email is to prove to everyone that I did have this idea. SO when people say "No one could have thought of this application of technology 10 years ago, I can say "Haha, yeah, I did!"
Love, 18 year old me. (Whoa, I'll be 28 when I get this email).
