Dear FutureMe...

Time Travelled — almost 10 years

Peaceful right?

Dear FutureMe, Never close your mind Never stop learning, listening, thinking, and challenging the fundamentals of your life. If they are truly fundamental, they will last. If not, they weren't worth building your life upon. Never stop seeing people as people. Never invalidate someone else's experience. Who are you to belittle a situation so different from your own? Never accept that you have found the right belief. Once you do that, you close your mind. Never apologise for speaking up if you did so in a kind and appropriate way. And never forget your privilege. Be willing to rethink the structures that benefit you but not others. If you have children, encourage them to form their own beliefs. Even if it's hard. Even if those beliefs are not yours. If you push your beliefs too hard, they will never discover them for themselves. Don't be like your father. February 3rd, 2016
